Who runs this site

This is the personal resume site of Mohammad (MJ) Bukhadhour. I built it and run it myself. It is not a business and does not sell anything. If you have a question about this page, contact me on LinkedIn.

The short version

Google Analytics

What: If you click Accept, a script from Google loads and records each page you view. If you click Decline or make no choice, the script is not loaded and none of the following is sent to Google. When you click a link that leaves this site, such as GitHub or LinkedIn, it records the address of that link. Google Analytics' default enhanced measurement is on, so besides page views and outbound link clicks it also records when you scroll down a page, site searches, video plays, file downloads, and form interactions, such as starting or submitting the contact form. For form interactions it records that the form was used, not the content you type. Along with these events, Google receives information your browser sends with every request: the page address and title, the page you came from, your browser and device type, screen size, language, and your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your country and city. Google says Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

Cookies: After you accept, the script stores two cookies in your browser, _ga and _ga_SE674YJENK. They hold a random ID so that repeat visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor. By Google's default they last up to two years.

Your choice: The site saves your answer in your browser's local storage, under the name analytics-consent, with the value accepted or declined. This is how the banner remembers not to ask again. It stays in your browser until you clear this site's data. It is not a cookie and the site does not send it to me or to Google.

Why: To see whether people find the site and which links they follow, so I can tell whether my resume is reaching recruiters.

Who receives it: Google. I see aggregated reports, such as page view counts, countries and devices. I do not see your name or email address in these reports, and I do not try to identify individual visitors.

How long: Google keeps visit-level data for the retention period set in my Google Analytics account. Summary reports can be kept longer.

The contact form

What: Your name, email address and message.

Why: So I can read your message and reply.

Current status: The contact form is not currently delivering messages. I may not receive anything you send through it. LinkedIn is the reliable way to reach me.

Who receives it: When you submit the form, the site tries to pass your name, email address and message to Resend, an email delivery service. Resend does not accept it because email sending is not set up, so the message is not delivered to me. The site does not save messages in its own database, so an undelivered message is not kept anywhere on the site.

How long: To limit spam, the server keeps your IP address and the times you submitted the form in memory. This is cleared when the server restarts.

Hosting and server logs

Like almost every website, the servers that deliver these pages record each request, including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. I use these logs to keep the site running and to investigate problems. The site is hosted on Railway. Cloudflare provides its domain name service and handles requests to the www address.

Your choices

Things this site does not do yet: it does not respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control browser signals, so use the banner instead. I cannot link Google Analytics data to you by name, so I cannot look up or delete it for you.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
